Sadhana-Sutra: A Day in Devotion to the Divine Guru

Sadhana-Sutra: “Travel to Khak”

Morning (morning)

  1. First resolution as soon as waking up (5 minutes):
    “O Gurudev, even today is offered in your devotion, service and practice. I have nothing, everything is yours.”
  2. Before refreshment (10-15 minutes):

Sit calm, close your eyes.

Chant the Guru’s name (eg “ॐ Sadgurve Namah”) 108 times.
Keep a sense of leaving “I” with every chanting.

  1. Sadhana (20-30 minutes):

Meditation: Focusing on breaths, put your mind in the form or name of the Guru.

Prayer:
“Gurudev, I will not live, just you remain.”

Afternoon

  1. Karma-Yoga (whatever work):

Do every task as a service – whether it is office or home.

Take the name of the mind of the mind every 1-2 hours.

  1. Prayer for 1 minute before meals:
    “Gurudev, this is also your Prasad, Tera Diya, you are dedicated.”

Dinner

  1. Satsang or reading (15-20 minutes):

Read Guru Vani or some spiritual texts like “Guru Gita”, “Avadhoot Gita”, “Amrit of Words”, etc.

Catch a sentence and meditate.

  1. Silence Sadhana (15 minutes):

Ask yourself: “Where I caught ‘I’ today? Where could I leave?”

Continue for introspection and take a pledge for the next day.

Night (before bed)

  1. Shri Charan Vandana (5 minutes):

Greet your guru mentally.

Dedicate all the successes and failures of the day at the Guru feet.

  1. Remember Guru Name at bedtime:

Go to sleep with the same name, like children in mother’s lap.

Weekly discipline

One day keep a silent fast (stay completely silent at least 2 hours).

Serve one day – someone’s help, cleanliness, food distribution etc.

Every week, identify the part of a “ego” and practice renounce (such as anger, rights, stubbornness etc.).
